Have you ever seen snow blowing down the road like it's flowing down a river? It's not quite a blizzard, but it's like a dust storm, only with snow.

That's happening here right now. And it is cold! I'm glad I'm inside, not outside in the freezing weather.

But that's not all....

Hopefully I'm going to be able to go see The Hobbit today!!!!

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, November 27

yeah I do still exist.

I know. It has been FOR---EVVVVV--ERRR since I posted last. Sorry about that. I was really busy.

Busy with what, you ask?

I'll give you a hint...

Yeah, I was watching a football game on Saturday.

And I was still not at the computer on Sunday.

I'm still not sure if I like football.

Do you like football?

I also went to a basketball game on Saturday.

Unfortunately, I was so tired I couldn't enjoy it as much as I would have.

I like basketball better than football...a little bit.

I can understand it better.

Sorry this is so rambling.

that's all for now.

This post has (almost) everything!!!!

I am undecided about what to post. The polls say Quizzes and Contests, with a close second for Book Reviews and Pictures. Then we have Bible Verses, Story Ideas, Stories, Poems, and Random, in that order. A Quiz....or a Contest....hmmmmm......I have an idea!!!

A Contest... The first person to leave three comments on each of my blogs will be able to drag off this prize. The comments can be left anywhere on the blogs, but it would be nice if you said that it was a comment for the contest...;-D. Go!!!!!

I don't feel like doing a book review just now. =P Sorry to all you who voted for that.

Now...pictures...???

There, for all you who voted for pictures. It IS a picture, don't complain.

A Bible Verse....
Psalm 18:2-3
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies.

A Story idea....

Two people investigate a "haunted house". An apparition appears to them--One of them thinks it is a ghost, the other thinks it is a trick. Side story: A pale girl is living with an old woman in an old house....

What do you think..I 'm not necessarily going to develop the story.

Sorry, no story right now. I can't write short enough ones.

Poems....

This post is a very chaotic randomness
Can you make sense out of all of this mess?

;-D

Random...
Have you ever built a fort in the middle of a river...NOT on an island?

In all my chaotic random glory

Randommmm...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Hickory Dickory Dock.
The mouse ran up the clock
The clock struck one
The mouse ran down
Hickory Dickory Dock."

"Now wait a minute! How boring is that!"

"Yeah, so?"

"How about this?

Hitcory Ditcory Dockt
The mouse ran up the clockt
The clockt struck one
The mouse ran down
Hitcory Ditcory Dockt"

"What on earth????? That isn't much different."

"So? It's funnier."

"Hitcory Ditcory Dockt. huh, that's funny."

"What?"

"That sounds like the ship Hitcory Ditcory docked!"

"Hmmm... we could make a story humorous poem about that!"

"Yeah. And the ship need to sink."

"Whaaaat? Why?"

"I don't know. Just 'cause. Here, try this:

Hickory Dickory Dock
The mouse ran up the clock
The clock struck one
The mouse ran down
And the Hitcory Ditcory docked."

"I like that! But it needs changed. Here, why don't we try this?

There was a ship called Hitcory Ditcory
A mighty ship of old.
And pirates chased her all over the sea,
For she was laden with gold."

"Pirates? Gold? Why? Really?"

"Oh stop it. You haven't heard the rest of it.

Now in the captain's cabin, you see
There dwelt a gallant pair.
A grandfather clock called Hickory.."

"That the captain's grandfather got at the Oceanic fair! =D"

"Wait a minute! I wasn't going to say that!"

"Hee hee =D"

"Hmph! You obviously have no appreciation for my talent, and I'm not going to tell you the rest!"

This was based on a real life conversation I heard.

Sorry to bother you with this completely random thought. I do know the rest of the poem that the blue person did not reveal. If you want to hear the end of this conversation, tell me.

S-?-?-?

So. You know the title of this post starts with S. And it has three letters following it. It is happening as I write.

And I assume you already guessed it by my picture.

Snow. It's snowing! It was raining earlier, but now...it's snowing! Hooray! It's so fun to look out the window and see the trees in the distance blurred by the falling snow. I love watching the snowflakes come swirling down. And it's especially nice inside where it's warm, just sitting with the computer and looking outside to the snow. And working on a story for writing. I might post it, but then again I might not. It's really really really short, and it's just a version of an Aesop's fable. The politically correct version, I might say. If you want it, comment.

And I want to do pictures....

Antelope...Snow...Ahhh...

Isn't this puppy cute?

Yes, I know. Totally unrelated. but I couldn't resist.

I think that's all for now....

Wow I did a lot this took a long time too

It's a grey day, a cloudy day, a day just perfect for sitting inside and reading. And blogging, of course. So.. I am looking at the polls to see what people want to have. And it is quizzes and contests, of course. *sigh* Well, I have a contest going. Click here to go to it. And I am not going to do a quiz until I have a good story to do it with. Maybe I'll do a Burglar quiz after I get the first book or whatever done. But right now The Burglar has only two main characters and I want to have three, at least. So...please wait for that one.

Next in the polls is book reviews...Ok. I will put in a book review. This picture is the first book in The Missing Series, by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Jonah, an adopted thirteen year old kid, and some others he knows, gets a strange letter in the mail. You are one of the missing, it says. Jonah, and his sister Katherine, try to figure out this mystery. In their investigations, they realize that something strange is happening...

I promise that if you start this book, you will not be able to put it down, and when you finish it, you will immediately want to go on to the next one in the series, Sent. This is a very well written book, full of surprising twists and turns in the plot.

And that's the book review.... next in the polls is pictures. So here are some pictures!

Now, normally I don't do horses, but this is one neat picture!

This rainbow looks like it belongs in a story book...

Soooo me!

this one too

Alright, I think that's enough pictures... what's next?

 I think that's all.

Really?

Yes.

I don't have a story idea right now...

So this is the end....

Fare well!

Places

See this land? That looks a lot like what I'm used to seeing every day. And those cows? Yeah, those too. But the grass.. that's a lot longer and greener than what I've been seeing this year.

Um, that's a complete bunny trail. This is not what I was intending to put in this post. But if you don't mind me asking, please pray for rain for ranchers everywhere.

On to what I was going to post. Anyway, I live really close to some used-to-be-fairly-well-known ranches. And when I think about that...

I see the places where cowboys used to ride every day. I see them every day, I mean. It's sort of funny, thinking about that. When I help move cows, I do it on the same ground people did it a hundred years ago. We do it a bit differently, of course, since times have changed. I have read a book written by a cowboy that worked on the very same land where I lived. Sometimes it gives me a funny feeling. I mean, people have seen these same views for more than a hundred years.

Think about where you live, what you see every day. Who was there before you? Who used to see the same things you see, or if you live in a city, who used to see the view that was here before the city? It's something to think about.

Just 'cause

I didn't really need to do a post. But I wanted you to see my latest work of art and tell me what you think. So... here it is.

There tolls the bell.....

Ding-dong! Donnng! Dlink! Dun dun dun dun dong! Yes, all those are sounds that real bells make. When you hear the word bells, what do you think of? Sleigh bells? Church bells? Cow bells? Those colorful bells that little kids play? (not to belittle those little bells..that's where I learned to love playing bells)

When I hear the word bells, I think of the sort of bells that you see in this picture>>. I am in a youth bell choir...it is so fun! I have the bells E6 and F6 and their respective sharps and flats, so I get to play a lot of the melody. Yesterday we met to practice and we learned a new song. In it we actually did make the bells make a sound sort of like "dlink!" I get to see a lot of friends at bell choir too. There's this one girl who is the highest in the choir. Yesterday she had eleven bells. And she's 12 years old. I don't have that hard of a job. I only have four bells.....at most. That girl did an awesome job.

And at the other end of the scale... there are bells bigger than that one.<<.  I don't think I could play those. Well, at bell choir we are preparing for a concert in December. So I go away from bell choir with Christmas songs stuck in my head...but I'm ready for Christmas anyway....

Have any of you been in a bell choir?

I Am BACK!!!!!

Yes! My computer is working again! I am so excited to be back! And I have a few things to say.

First off, thanks to everyone who followed my blog in my absence. I am now at fifteen followers... THANK YOU!

Second, only one person has entered my story contest so far. I am hereby extending said contest until Halloween. If you don't know what I am talking about, click here.

Thirdly, I have gotten three votes on my poll for book reviews. Since that is a majority, my next post will be a book review, as soon as I decide which one to review.

And last. I also have three votes for pictures. Will someone please instruct me in the art of putting pictures on my blog? Thanks.

New Header and a Quiz

What do you think of my new header and my blog button? Storyteller designed them for me! Aren't they AWESOME!

Now, several people have voted quiz on my poll, so here all you guys go!
This is a quiz to see how much like my story characters in the Julia story you are.

1. If you were a slave, and your owners freed you for your services, what would you do?
     A. Remember your former owners and help them out if possible when you can.
     B. Be so glad you're free! And think about your former owners with fondness sometimes.
     C. Freedom....ahh....oh, I suppose I should help them if I hear they need it.
     D. Who cares about them? You're free! Celebrate!

2. If your former owners got the plague, what would you do?
     A. Go and help them willingly, not caring that you might catch the plague and die.
     B. Cry about it, but you can't help them. You might get sick!
     C. Help them reluctantly, from a sense of duty.
     D. Leave them alone. You'll be glad if they die!

3. One of your friends is being persecuted because they are a Christian. You...
     A. Stand up for them boldly.
     B. Sympathize with them after it's happened, but are too nervous to stop the bully.
     C. After you realize that the persecution is getting really bad, stand up for your friend.
     D. Stay away from your friend and pretend you don't know them.

4. You are brought into the Coliseum and told that you will be thrown to the lions if you don't recant your Christian faith. You....
     A. Declare that you will never recant and trust God for the strength you need.
     B. Freeze in fear, but don't say anything--you didn't recant!
     C. After you boldy say that you could never recant, you fight the men holding you and escape.
     D. Recant in fear. It's just a religion, and you don't want to die!

If you got mostly A's, you are Lydia. If you got mostly B's, you are Julia, and if you got mostly C's, you are Marcus. And if you got mostly D's (which I hope no one gets) you are the odious Domitian.

That's all for now!

A gap in my posts....

Alright. Yes, I know it has been forever since I posted. and I also know that you want to know what is going to happen next to the Burglar....

I will post more on The Burglar soon. It will be my next post, I promise.

But that is not what I am talking about today. Today I am announcing that I am not going to be posting on Tuesdays anymore. The reason is undisclosed...and I'm going to keep it that way, for security reasons....

Now you're all going to wonder what I'm doing. Am I on a secret mission? Am a newspaper reporter for someone...and I work on Tuesdays?

You'll never know.

Hmmmm....

Alright. I got this idea for a post off of Storyteller's blog, Storyteller of Weston County.

I think it will be really fun.

I hope you will too. =D

I also hope that everyone who is following my blog and sees this will comment....

yes...

I know...

that you are waiting.

hmmm....

should I make you wait any longer?

no?

Why not?

welll....Okay.

I will now actually post what my fun thing is.

What do you envision me looking like? I mean you know I'm a girl, but am I young?

or old?

Do I have dark hair?

or light hair?

Am I tall?

or short?

What color of eyes do I have?

Please comment what you think!

Monday, September 3

Whyyy....

Does anyone have any idea what the point of Labor Day is? And why, if you don't work on Labor Day, is it called Labor Day? It ought to be called Non-Labor Day. Hmmm? Doesn't that seem to make more sense?

Random

Random fact #1. I am extremely busy, especially since I started school on Monday.
Random fact #2. I have gotten several awards, which I will try to post. (eventually)
Random fact #3. My piano lessons are starting again in the middle of September! Yay!
Random fact #4. There is evidence of extremely advanced technology in ancient cultures.
Random fact #5. People want quizzes and/or contests. What are your ideas for things like that?
Random fact #6. That's enought random facts for today!

I borrowed your idea, Storyteller. Hope you don't mind!

I got an award!

I got the Charming award from Storyteller! So on to the Rules!

The Charming person is a person whose charm is evident in everywhere they go—in their blog posts, their replies, and their comments. They are always gracious and thinking of others.

Charming person rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and leave a link to all of their blogs.

Thank you, Storyteller! (Rubberboot Girl, Dragonmaster)

2. What about yourself do you think is charming?

Well, I don't really know. That is a hard question! Maybe I try to be kind, but sometimes that's hard. (Especially around some of my siblings!)

3. What is your favorite thing about the person who gave you the award?

Storyteller is so awesome! The stories on the blogs are amazing, and Storyteller is so nice!

4. Nominate 1 person for this award. No tag backs. I.E=one person gives this to, say, somebody named Sally. Sally cannot retag the person, but the person who Sally gives the award to can reaward the person who gave it to Sally.

I say.... Jess!

 5. Answer the questions you were asked, then make up five more for the person you awarded.

These are the questions I was asked:
1) What is your favorite activity?
Reading, definitely.

2) What do you think of when you think of yourself?
I think of a shy girl who likes to read.

3) What is your favorite season?
I would say probably spring.

4) How old do you think I am?
I think you are 13.

5) In what kind of a house do you think I live?
I think you live in a fairly large house, a few miles out of a town. It is painted an unusual color.

Now, here's my questions.

1) Do you have any hobbies?

2) How old do you think I am?

3) What is your favorite type of weather?

4) Do you like to blog?

5) Do you have siblings?

(you do not have to answer these if you feel they intrude on your privacy)
And that's all!

Random Question #2

What sort of story do you like best? Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Romance, Other?
