A Really Huge 100th Post.

Yes, this is my hundredth post. Yay! I've made it thus far!
I have to thank all of you guys who follow my blog and encourage me with your comments. =D

So, first of all I have to catch up with what I usually do Monday....

So this week we are doing ....

Nehemiah 9:5b-6.

Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.

And moving on! I have a new....

~Elven-Names~ The Secret

I turned the page. And was swept into a world of adventure. It was all written here: Mom and Dad's quests, their fights with the Mormir...everything. I wish I could tell it all here, but it would be a whole book of its own.

As I flipped pages, I saw that Mom and Dad had gone on a lot of trips when I was just a baby, and before. But it didn't look like they had found anthing out. All of the quests just seemed to end with them fighting the Mormir and winning, but not gaining anything. Dad always was at Mom's side, protecting her. I sighed. I wished Dad was like that now.

One of the entries caught my eye.  Turan wanted to name our son Turin. I opposed him, for, although Turin was a mighty warrior, he had great troubles and his end was in darkness. Turan did not believe that the name would affect our son, but at last he relented, and so we named our son Thoron:eagle. May he rise above his troubles on eagle's wings!

There was one about Gilanna also, but it just said they named her "Star-gift".  And then, a few entries later, I saw my name.

I have already written how I chose Mirluin to be my sucessor as the Keeper of the Lore. I feel sure she will read my book someday, and I wish her to learn and know. Mirluin, if you are reading this, I am sure you are the Keeper of the Lore, or at least will be soon. Read and learn. I made a discovery just yesterday. Iluvatar does exist. I had thought him a myth of middle-earth, but He is real. He does not use Vala and Maia here on Earth, but interacts with men directly. Mirluin, you must heed my words. Only Iluvatar can aid you; you must seek Him. There is another Book, greater than mine. Read it. Discover His great gift to Men.

I turned the page.

Pinned ImageThere are, indeed, Hobbit-named people. And there may be men named in the middle-earth way, but these are harder to find, for they are nearly indistinguishable from ordinary men. I have never seen any dwarf-named. Indeed, how could there be any? For the dwarves had secret names, and none knew them save their family. So no one knows any true dwarf-names. And of other beings of which there may be named, I do not believe there are any. Indeed, who would name their child after an Orc? It is infathomable. And I am glad, because if there were Orc-named, it would go hard with Turan and I when we are searching.

I kept going forward, learning much, but never learning where the Elven-named came from. And then I came to a entry written hastily.

I have found it! I cannot say how here or how I learned, but I know where the Elven-named came from. And with it I have learned the secret of the Mormir, their power over us. It is the names. Names have a far greater power than any of us ever imagined. And now I am truly glad I did not name our son Turin, for it may have come to pass that the life of Turin was repeated. But I cannot write at length here. If the Mormir know I have learned, my life is in great peril. And Turan is not with me. I came alone.

That was at the bottom of the page, and I turned it quickly, to find nothing. The entries had ended. I turned back and looked at the date on the previous entry. It was the day before Mom had suddenly died.

I stood up; it seemed like I couldn't just sit there. It felt a little difficult to breathe. Now I knew this secret--this secret that Mom said put her in great peril. Would the Mormir be coming after me now?

I jumped as a knock sounded on the door and Weneithel entered. Her face was grave. "Mirluin. Your father has gone missing."

To be continued.

Story Contest Winners!

Sooooo! Yesterday was the end of my story contest! And I have a first place and a second place winner! It was extremely hard to decide, all the entries were AWESOME!

And the first place winner is.....
Brittney Ann!

Here is Brittney's awesome story:

The MoonAcre Remorse

Two Thousand years ago in the land of MoonAcre there lived a princess named LeeAnn. Her father owned a land of slaves, and LeeAnn wanted to free them. She knew the way her father treated them was wrong. She decided she would sneak up to the caves where the slaves were locked up,and free them. She snuck up to the side of the cave with her friend Mellissa. The plan was that Mellissa was to go to the mountains and distract the guards, while LeeAnn would open the iron gate and set the slaves free.

While Mellissa made the distraction all the guards left, or so LeeAnn thought. While LeeAnn was opening the gate for the slaves, she heard a trumpet- a warning trumpet! She hurried up and opened the gate, and the slaves fled. Then LeeAnn tried to creep out, but she was too late! One of the guards grabbed her, and called for her father.

Her father’s wrath poured out, and he told one of his men to take LeeAnn to the dungeon and not give her food nor water for four days! LeeAnn almost died on the third day, but her father changed his mind.

He said, “I will not let you die so soon, for all my slaves have been lost just because you felt sorry for them! Since you have done this, I dearly hope someone will feel sorry for you for I have sold you into slavery!”

LeeAnn begged her father to change his heart, but he refused. She promised herself that she would come back to MoonAcre free. LeeAnn lived for seven years as a slave. Then one day as she was serving her master’s dinner. She heard that some slaves where being returned to MoonAcre. LeeAnn made sure that she was one of them. On the way to MoonAcre LeeAnn made a friend with a girl named Kassie.

LeeAnn told her what happened to her, and Kassie agreed to help her make things right. While the slaves where being presented to the king, he did not recognize LeeAnn, but she knew him. She was filled with anger so she slipped out of the group into a dark corner in the palace.

The next day LeeAnn went into town to see her old friend Mellissa. She soon found out that the king had sentenced her to death after LeeAnn had left. LeeAnn was filled with rage! She went out and bought a dagger and ran into the palace, where she found the king on his throne.

When he saw her, he did not recognize her, and he said, “ What right do you have to walk into my chambers without permission?”

“ I have the right as your daughter,” replied LeeAnn.

“ My daughter is dead. She would never have survived seven years of slavery. Did you know her? Did she send you?”

“ My father, you do not recognize me? I am your flesh and blood! I have spent fifteen years with you and you do not think I am your daughter?”, LeeAnn asked.

When the king saw it was her, his long lost daughter, he could barely believe it was her! “Oh, LeeAnn kill me now for I have done a horrible thing, I beg thee to forgive me!”

LeeAnn’s heart was grieved and she bowed on her knees weeping. “I forgive thee father!”

It was known throughout the kingdom that the princess had returned! Everyone rejoiced, there was going to be a royal feast to celebrate the uniting.

As soon as Mellissa’s father heard this he set out a plan to kill the people who had killed his beloved daughter! On the day of the feast he sneaked into the royal kitchen, and poisoned their cups.

The royal drink tester, examined the cups but did not know it was poisoned, because it could not be triggered unless their lips touched the cups!

As father and daughter took a sip, the poison attacked making them not able to breath!

As the king was dying he said to his daughter, “ I love thee, I am truly regretful of my actions!!

Afterward

LeeAnn had freed Kassy before her death, and she became the next queen.

And the second place winner is Storyteller! She had an awesome story also, so I decided to put it up here also.

Here is Storyteller's awesome story:

"Where are ye, stable girl? Girl!" the rough voice was all-too familiar to me.

"I'm over here!" I yelled, putting down my pitchfork and wiping my hands on my rough woolen surcoat that hung loosely over my gown.

In strode the rather large, gross man that I knew as my employer. A rough leather jerkin covered his tunic, covered in stains of all kinds that I didn't even try to imagine what they were.

"There's someone 'ere to see ya," he admitted, glaring at me.

He pointed towards the door, where a man dressed in a gray robe and carrying a large wooden staff was waiting. He wore a cloak's hood over his head, covering his features. But I could tell by his old and gnarled hands that he was elderly.

"Sir?" I queried, coming to stand before him with my hands clasped behind my back.

"Are you Carolyn Maybro?" he demanded, looking me up and down.

"Yes," I answered. "And who are you?"

"There is much urgency," he started. "You must set off at once for the castle."

"And why is that?" I demanded.

At just that moment bugles sounded off and the royal carriage pulled out in front of my master's livery stable. Surprised, I watched as the door swung open and man that I knew as the king strode out. He looked around, and then he stopped when he saw me.

"Can it be...?" He whispered, running forward and falling on his knees before me.

"Umm...." I started.

The old man sighed. "I guess you would've found out who you were sooner or later."

"Who am I?" I demanded.

"Princess Carolyn of the kingdom of Sariwyn," explained the king. Tears pricked his eyes. "My daughter."

I took a step backwards. "Your daughter? Sir, are you being quite absurd? Is this some kind of sick joke that you're playing on me?"

"No, he's not," answered the old man. "Let me introduce myself. I am the wizard Nevery. I am the king's wizard, and I helped him locate you." He glared at the king. "And I WAS going to break it slowly to you."

"Come," urged the king. "You must come to the castle with me at once."

"Wait!" I pulled my arm away. I looked at the men, whose faces showed surprise. "What if I don't want to come with you? What if I don't want to be a princess? What if I don't want to rule the kingdom?"

"Do you?" asked Nevery.

I froze. I couldn't lie. "Yes."

The king smiled. I went with him in his fine carriages to the castle. The thrust into the life of luxury was very unknown to me.

Epilogue--
Queen Carolyn was beloved by all her peoples for all of her days. She made a big reach out to the poor people, among whom she used to be. She became the most loved and memorable ruler of all of the kingdom of Sariwyn. She died peacefully at the age of 120.

You guys both had AWESOME stories! Thanks for entering!

Artsy Award!

Yes...I know I know I know. I have been gone for ages! Since last Friday! And there is a reason...

random fact= Cows are not supposed to take 14 hours to trail eleven miles.

On to the real reason for this post!
I got an award! The Artsy Award! Thank you so much, Storyteller!

Anyway, so here are the rules.

Rules:

1. Normally this is where it says "thank the person who gave you the award and leave a link to their blog etc. etc." Well, you can do that if you want. I mean, if you like the award and you're glad you got it and you can do that. Or you can just copy this and have people listen to me rambling. :)

Thank you...Storyteller!

2. Answer the five questions set out for you and make the next five questions for the people that you nominate.  So, if you get awarded, here are your five questions:

1) Would you rather listen to music or make the music?

both! yes!

2) If you must be forced, I always like to ask this question [just because I'm oh-so-curious] :)--anyway, so the question is, what is your favorite part about me? (I promise that's the last boring question) :P

I like your stories and your sweetness..

3) Would you rather go to the beach or the mountains?

Hmmm... probably the beach..I live pretty close to mountains

4) Tea or coffee?

Tea..definitely!

5) Volleyball or basketball?

Neither!

Now here's my questions for those I award to answer!
#1. What sort of book do you like best?
#2. Have you ever been somewhere exotic? (Like the caribbean or africa or any neat place like that) And if you have, where was it?
#3. Bread & Butter, Toast, or French Toast?
#4. Which school subject do you like best? (If you're not in school anymore, which subject did you like best?)
#5. Do you like my blog?

3. OK, so usually there's a "NO TAGBACKS" rule. I'm here to say that in #3 of this award you can tag or not tag or whatever you want to do. Agreed? Agreed. ;)

4. Award five people (at the least) or as many as you like this award.

Madeline@ Instantly British
Jenna@ A Beautiful Heart
The Keller Girls@ Three Girls And Their Hobbies
Madeline May@ Totally Me!
Storyteller@ Dragonmaster

5. Notify the people you awarded.

Will do!

That's all for now!

I got an award!

I got the Charming award from Storyteller! So on to the Rules!

The Charming person is a person whose charm is evident in everywhere they go—in their blog posts, their replies, and their comments. They are always gracious and thinking of others.

Charming person rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and leave a link to all of their blogs.

Thank you, Storyteller! (Rubberboot Girl, Dragonmaster)

2. What about yourself do you think is charming?

Well, I don't really know. That is a hard question! Maybe I try to be kind, but sometimes that's hard. (Especially around some of my siblings!)

3. What is your favorite thing about the person who gave you the award?

Storyteller is so awesome! The stories on the blogs are amazing, and Storyteller is so nice!

4. Nominate 1 person for this award. No tag backs. I.E=one person gives this to, say, somebody named Sally. Sally cannot retag the person, but the person who Sally gives the award to can reaward the person who gave it to Sally.

I say.... Jess!

 5. Answer the questions you were asked, then make up five more for the person you awarded.

These are the questions I was asked:
1) What is your favorite activity?
Reading, definitely.

2) What do you think of when you think of yourself?
I think of a shy girl who likes to read.

3) What is your favorite season?
I would say probably spring.

4) How old do you think I am?
I think you are 13.

5) In what kind of a house do you think I live?
I think you live in a fairly large house, a few miles out of a town. It is painted an unusual color.

Now, here's my questions.

1) Do you have any hobbies?

2) How old do you think I am?

3) What is your favorite type of weather?

4) Do you like to blog?

5) Do you have siblings?

(you do not have to answer these if you feel they intrude on your privacy)
And that's all!
